On April 13, 1986, Jim married in real life again. Before the departure of Steve Keeney from KIMN, a plan was hatched to have a wedding for the KIMN Chicken. "The KIMN Chicken marries Henrietta" was scheduled for June 1986 at Heritage Square. The weekend before the wedding of the birds, Heritage Square held an Elvis Presley memorabilia convention. The Chicken Wedding drew 1,500 more people than Elvis. Jim's wife, Pam, played the role of Henrietta. The Barrell Man (Tim McCurnan) was the preacher to marry the birds. Randy Jay was the Emcee for the occasion. Volunteers from Rocky Mountain Harley Davidson provided the security. It was an all celebrity event with every mascot in town making an appearance for the Chicken Wedding. With Chicken Little and Jim's daughter, Joy, as the Maid of Honor, the KIMN Chicken legacy was a total family affair. Now you would think that since Jim was already really married to his bride in real life that he wouldn't have any premarital jitters. I have it on good authority that Jim and the Barrell Man Preacher had a couple of belts to calm the groom of a Chicken's nerves before taking that big cluck walk down the aisle.
